A Seattle-based SaaS company, Zipwhip is modernizing the texting medium by adding text messaging to existing landline, VoIP and toll-free phone numbers. Zipwhip pairs direct network connectivity with easy out-of-the-box software, so businesses of any size can give customers the choice to "text or call" and handle two-way text conversations at scale. 


  • Work with the PR + Communications Manager to carry out media relations activities, including drafting press releases, pitching reporters and securing high-quality interviews, providing media training to key spokespeople and conducting interview prep, building media lists, reporting on coverage, etc.  
  • Lead content creation on the marketing team and collaborate with other team members to create website copy, sell sheets, flyers, case studies, etc.
  • Assist in additional copywriting and copyediting tasks as requested
  • Manage Zipwhip's blog, including sourcing and drafting stories from start to finish, building out the content calendar and managing deadlines
  • Ensure that all content is on-brand and consistent in style, quality and tone
  • Weave SEO optimization into all content strategies, including the website, blog posts, press releases, etc.
  • Plan and manage a link-building strategy to help improve Zipwhip's domain authority
  • Manage Zipwhip's social media content, build followers, drive engagement and produce regular reports on key performance metrics
  • Assist with internal communications initiatives and crisis communications issues as necessary


  • 3-5+ years of experience in public relations, communications and content strategy
  • 1+ years of public relations agency experience
  • Creative thinker and the drive and skill to execute with minimal direction
  • Self-starter who can manage their own projects and deadlines
  • Extreme attention to detail and precise writing
  • Understanding and adherence to AP style
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to interact positively and professionally with peers and executives
  • Ability to focus and deliver high volumes of high-quality written work under deadline
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, self-driven, startup culture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Design experience and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Experience with WordPress
  • Photography experience
