What we're looking for:   

The Director, Acquisition Marketing is responsible for driving online traffic to Zipwhip.com that converts into  buyers via free trial or directly into the online sign up process. This position will lead all paid media acquisition, including SEM, display retargeting, social advertising, sponsorships, print and OOH, and co-own SEO with the head of content marketing.

What's the job really? 

  • Lead Zipwhip's customer acquisition strategy and operational plan to deliver a self-service customer traffic, signup and revenue target.
  • Drive a consistently expanding stream of unique visitors excluding customers (UVECs) to Zipwhip.com via a coordinated paid media and SEO optimization plan.
  • Build and execute a paid media acquisition strategy that delivers a consistent 150% Internal Rate of Return (IRR) on a 3-year model.
  • Manage the digital acquisition media budget and team of direct response paid media experts who will execute paid media strategies, including all search engine marketing, display retargeting, social media advertising, paid sponsorships, print and out-of-home.
  • Oversee the development of all media creative in partnership with content marketing and creative services, including leveraging outside consultants and agencies as necessary.
  • Co-lead the search-engine optimization strategy with the head of content marketing, tailoring our site to the algorithms that search engines use to rank websites. This will include driving keyword research, title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, and other signals, plus collaborating with content marketing on keyword phrases, internal page linking and other strategies to drive higher SEO rank.
  • Collaborate with the website and analytics team on a consistent test-and-learn process to optimize conversion, including rigorous A/B testing and analytics review.
  • Collaborate with analytics team on managing a real-time dashboard of operational metrics.
  • Travel as required 10-15% of time.

What you bring to the table: 

  • 8+ years of experience in paid digital media customer acquisition.
  • 5+ years of paid digital media buying experience with responsibility of driving traffic.
  • 3+ years of management experience leading paid media and/or SEO ICs
  • Creative thinker with the drive and skill to execute with minimal direction
  • Self-starter who can manage their own projects and deadlines
  • Extreme attention to detail and precise writing and presentation skills
  • Deep data analytics and data processing skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, self-driven, startup culture
  • Passion for building systems and processes from the ground up, oftentimes with limited existing structure
  • Flexibility and eagerness to be part of a rapidly growing and evolving tech company
